Vanilla / Classic WoW Cooking Guide 1 – 300

Introduction

Cooking is one of three secondary professions available to players in Vanilla / Classic WoW. It involves cooking various meats, fish, and other ingredients to create consumable food items. These food items generally restore the player’s health over time while eating, and in some cases provide a boost to the player’s stats upon consumption. At a high level, there is a constant demand for a few particular items created via Cooking for the stat boosts they provide. As a secondary profession, Cooking can be learned by anyone without needing to forego other professions. In this guide, we will focus on how to level Cooking from 1 – 300 in Vanilla / Classic WoW.

Before You Begin

There are a couple things to know before you follow this guide:

1) This guide assumes that you are leveling Cooking without Fishing. For those who aren’t in a hurry and plan to level both Fishing and Cooking at some point, it is often more efficient to level them together, as you can cook many of the fish you catch for skill-ups. If this is the case, you can still use this guide to fill in the gaps on your way to 300.

2) Some of the recipes used in this guide are rewards from faction-specific quests or purchased from faction-specific vendors. For this reason, I have separated the guide into Horde and Alliance.
